Why is it everytime I go out and ride my bike on the road somewhere I get at least one person that decides they need to shout obscentities or honk their horn at me? People that ride their bikes DO have to follow the rules of the road like everyone else and we do have to make sure we are being a safe as possible. There are hardly any designated areas or bike lanes around this town, so I am sorry if I need to get exercize and it happens to be on the same road you are on at the exact same time you're having a bad day, but there is no reason to treat me like I have no right to be on the road. You just have to grit your teeth and bear it.
It would be nice if the city could take some money and invest in making more roads the have bike lanes, then obviously it would make things a lot safer and easier for bikers to get around. I mean, it's not like biking is a new thing. It has been around for a long time, so you would think people could start getting used to seeing us out there sharing the same roads they drive on. Although I remember when I was a kid riding around my town, Ozark, all over the place. I had a little ten speed that I would ride and I do not remember one time anyone ever saying anything to me about it. No honks on the horn, no yelling obscene things, nothing of the sort!
I can understand people thinking that they are in a car and that they have the right-a-way, but the truth is, like I said, bikers still have to follow the rules and with that said, we have a right to be on the road!

haha sure cute blog :) but did you know there is a trail that is miles long and perfect for a bike ride? i walk there sometimes and alot of people go there to bike. it is called Frisco Trails. there are a few differnt places to go and park, easiest one to explain is right off of Zora and St louis st, there is a gravel parking lot to park at and you can go either way on the trail... one way goes to Webb City, and the other go to Joplin.. i think you will enjoy it, there are no rude people there :)
